Tilton ATV Park Rules:

The Village of Tilton has determined the ATV Park to be a Hazardous Recreation Area and Will not be held Accountable for Accidents arising out of the use of the Park.

1. Season runs from January 1 to December 31 every year.  Due to weather, the ATV park can only be used by appointment from December 1 through April 1 of each year. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to see if the park is open or  to make arrangements to ride, pay fees and sign waivers. ATV Park is open  Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 am til half an hour before sunset.  You must be out a half an hour before sunset.   All members must call Monday and Tuesday to see if the ATV Park will be open.  Hours may be changed due to weather or season.  Any schedule changes will be posted online as soon as possible.  All members must have appropriate parking pass in vehicle, visible to staff members whenever they are riding.   Parking passes will be assigned to specific member vehicles and if you come in another vehicle you must check in to get a temporary parking pass.  When doing this, you must show proof that you are a member.     Any member that brings a guest who does not pay fees or check in will lose their membership for that year.  This applies whether the guest is riding their own machine or the member's machine.  All members and daily passes must sign in and sign out via the office or phone.  If you do not sign in and/or out, your membership will be revoked.   If you are a daily member and do not sign in or out you will not be able to ride for the rest of the year.  We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some but these rules are for everyone's safety.  There will be no exceptions.

Our ATV Park is dedicated to family and safety and we are not a raceway.  This is why we have the rules and regulations which we enforce.  This is  also why we have designated colored trails.

All rules and regulations are in form of a City Ordinance and you may be subject to a fine, your membership being revoked or your machine may be seized.  These rules are enforced by the dedicated staff members and/or law enforcement officials.  All rules apply to everyone, MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS.  GREEN TRAILS ARE FAMILY ONLY...ANYONE CAUGHT VIOLATING THE GREEN TRAILS WILL HAVE THEIR VEHICLE IMPOUNDED AND IT WILL BE $300.00 TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE.  THIS RULE IS STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Fees have been revised and seasonal passes will start January 1 of each year. Trails will typically be closed from December 1 through March 1 of each year but if conditions permit, you may ride, but you need to call before you come to ride. All persons riding must sign in and sign out at either City Hall at 1001 Tilton Road, Tilton, IL or at the designated area within the ATV Park. The fees, starting January 1, 2015 will be as follows:  There are no daily passes anymore…all passes are individual annual passes. Individual yearly passes will be $20.00 annually plus $2.00 each time you ride. Individuals 15 years old and younger who are accompanied by a family paid adult do not have to pay the annual fee of $20.00 but they must pay $2.00 each time they ride. Children 5 years old and younger accompanied by a family paid adult may ride for free. All riders must have waivers signed in order to ride. You must be a member to ride. You must be 18 years old or older to ride alone. All minors 17 years and younger have to be accompanied by an adult. ALL FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE.   Also, if you would like to wash your vehicle off when you are done riding, you may do so using the Wash bay at the Public Works Building for $5.00. 

2. NO OFF ROAD VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED ON TRAILS, THIS INCLUDES JEEPS BUGGIES TRUCKS ETC. ONLY ATV AND OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLES ARE ALLOWED ON TRAILS. NO WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED EXCEPT BY PARK POLICE, OR POLICE THAT ARE PATROLING TRAILS. OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICERS MUST SHOW ID TO MANAGER. NO LITTERING ON TRAILS OR IN PARK.

3. All off-road motorcycles, ATV’S must purchase an annual, or daily, per person Village of Tilton Use Sticker prior to riding on approved trails.  One sticker must be adhered to each off-road motorcycle or motorcycle helmet prior to operating at the park in a readily visible area.  Stickers are non transferable. No refunds will be given for violation of park rules or state laws. Trail Managers/Tilton Police Department’s decision will be final.

4. No AGGRESIVE RIDING WILL BE PERMITTED BY OR NEAR CHILDREN, WORKERS, EMERGENCIES ON TRAILS, BROKEN DOWN ATV’S OR BIKES OR BY DESIGNATED PULL OFF AREAS.

5. NO RIDING OUTSIDE OF MARKED TRAILS OR DESIGNATED AREAS. DRIVER’S MUST RIDE SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY AT ALL TIMES. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED IN OR ON TRAILS AND NO DRIVERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE ON TRAILS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY THING THAT COULD IMPAIR DRIVING OR THE MENTAL OR PHYSICAL CAPABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY. STATE LAWS AND/OR LOCAL ORDINANCES SHALL PREVAIL FOR ALL ATV/OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLES RIDING AND IF EITHER/OR ARE VIOLATED, EXPULSION OF TRAIL PRIVILEGES FOR LIFE COULD OCCUR.

6. Riding outside of designated areas will result in expulsion from trail and or park. Violators will be subject to prosecution for any damages, City Ordinance Fines ,Public Nuisance Tow or State Laws.

7. VILLAGE OF TILTON ATV TRAILS AND PARK ARE A ZERO TOLERANCE FACILITY. ANY RULE VIOLATION OR VIOLATION OF STATE LAWS CAN RESULT IN YOUR TRAILS AND PARK PRIVILEGES BEING REVOKED. FURTHER, FINES UNDER STATE LAWS OR CITY ORDINANCES CAN BE ASSESSED. ALL FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE.

8. Operators shall obey all signs that direct vehicle traffic or establish rules for the park. Speed limit in parking area is not to be over 10 m.p.h. Off road ATV’s and motorcycles are only allowed in designated areas in park or on the trails.

9. EVERY ATV OPERATOR MUST MEET STATE REQUIREMENTS REGARDING AGE AND SAFETY CERTIFICATION. NOBODY UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS OLD WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT A CONSENTING ADULT WITH THEM. CONSENTING ADULT MUST STAY ON GROUNDS WHILE MINNOR CHILD IS RIDING TRAILS.

10. Helmets must meet the minimum IDOT standards and they are required in all areas of the trails, park and on driver and passenger while ATV or motorcycle is in motion. All other safety gear must be in good working standard.

11. Every ATV and off road motorcycle must meet Federal noise and air pollution standards and have a functioning USFS spark arrestor.

12. Any personal injury or property damage must be reported immediately to the Village of Tilton.

13. No Off-Road Motorcycle or ATV may operate on premises over 96 db measured using SAE International (SAE) J1287 Measurement of Exhaust Sound Levels of Stationary Motorcycles.

14. All Illinois All-Terrain Vehicle Laws apply to ATV use at the park.

15. NO HUNTING NO WALKING ON TRAILS WHEN TRAILS ARE OPEN. PERMIT RIDERS ONLY ON TRAILS.

16. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT DRIVING ON TRAILS IN A MOTORIZED VEHICLE, THIS WILL RESULT IN FINES AND PUBLIC NUSANCE TOW. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT RIDING IN NON DESIGNATED AREAS OF PARK FINES AND PUBLIC NUSANCES TOW WIL RESULT.

17. Protective eyeware and helmets are required on all trails.

19. With the purchase of any Family Pass or Corporate Pass, all members must be in good standing for the pass to stay in good standing. If one person gets kicked out, all members on the pass will be kicked out.
